For what it’s worth (and somewhat ironic as a first post) – the approach might help somebody who has similar experiences: When our IT updated the computers where we had Bruker Topas5 installed to Windows 11, while it worked without problem on most of the group’s PCs, it subsequently hung up starting on one PC (even though it did initially work after the update), i.e. the Windows didn’t appear, but no missing license box appeared, and a Topas process was showing in the task manager. The window for Diffrac.EVA also didn't show up anymore. I tracked this down to the Codemeter server somehow not running (even if trying to start it manually from its control panel). My solution was to uninstall both Topas5, Diffrac.EVA, and Codemeter, and then re-install. I always install the latest Diffrac.EVA (for which there are more frequently updated setup.exe available) first because it contains a newer version of the Codemeter software than the one in our Topas5 setup.exe. The Topas installer then doesn’t overwrite the already installed Codemeter, and both are working fine since then.
