Dear all,
Recently I ran anomalous scattering in I11. The sample powder was loaded outside of 0.5mm capillary by applying some glue, i.e., the capillary is empty inside but surface covered firstly glue and then sample powder.
So, in this case how to do absorption correction in TOPAS?
We tried to load sample inside a very slim capillary (0.3mm) , but just got rubbish data due to the apsorption edge....
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot.

You could try a Pitschke model absrobtion correction.
Surface_Roughness_Pitschke_et_al(a1c,somevalue1,a2c,somevalue2).
This was used in Richard J Goff et al (JOURNAL OF PHYSICS: CONDENSED MATTER,2005) where they refer to the geometry you described as halfannular.....they also observed preferred orientation..........
hope this helps,
Mark

Hi Mark, thanks a lot.
I got the literature and updated the input files.
Now it works well
