extracting a parameter from LVol_FWHM_CS_G_L

Hi. I want to extract the volume weighted mean column height (lvol) from the LVol_FWHM_CS_G_L macro.

I have tried:

local test2 = Get(lvol); : 9.4

but this doesnt seem to work.

Any suggestions out there?

Adrian: Probably not the most elegant answer, but in the past I've just rewritten the equation in the macro (get from topas.log) in the input file to produce an identical dummy parameter that can be output. Best (and say hello to Aunty this Easter!) John

Hi,

I'm looking to do a similar thing to Adrian here, with the difference being extracting lvol from multiple single peak xo_Is phases. Here is what I am writing so far (which isn't working):

lvol here is the equation taken from the LVol_FWHM_CS_G_L macro. Anyhow, it says it cannot locate lvol and I'm a bit stuck as to how I might achieve this.

Secondly, once (if) this works it would be useful to do something like:

for xo_Is {
out "results.txt"
Out(Get(lvol), " %11.5f"\n)
}

however, whilst there is xdds, strs and hklis, I couldn't find a xois or equivalent. Is there one?

Have you tried without the "Get". i.e. just use:

Out(lvol, " %11.5f"\n)

Ah, thank you! Apologies for the trivial solution!

Still stuck on doing a 'for xo_Is {}' method rather than having an Out{} under every xo_Is. Not so much a problem more just a matter of convenience.

What's the issue with using the for X_Is {} construct?

Possibly try 'out "results.txt" append' ?
