Hi everyone
Does someone have an idea how I can force a simulated pattern to be 100% oriented on 00l (i.e. for simulating oriented clay samples)?
Cheers

Have you tried the "omit" command to remove all but reflections you're interested in?

Make an hkl phase and only have 00l reflections in the list?

Thanks, both ways work for the simulation, in which a scale factor is irrelevant.
With real data: Is there a way to tweak available preferred orientation models so that oriented real samples can be evaluated?
I assume "omit" does not work in this case because preferred orientation does not only reduce or "omit" some reflection intensities but also increase others (with respect to the scaling in an unoriented sample).

Is this for Bragg-Brentano geometry?
If so, then wouldn't a 100% oriented sample just be a single crystal with only the 00l planes parallel to the surface, and therefore only getting 00l reflections?

This makes sense... So, you would assume that the scaling (for semi-quant) is correct even when omitting all except 00l reflections?

Martin, yes, that's correct.
